Fashion Plate

I just really liked Emma's outfit the other day...what can I say? The girl's got style. :)

Four on the Floor

Emma achieved a huge milestone during the Winter Break: She crawled on all fours for the first time! It was incredible to watch, since we actually saw her evolve, time-stop fashion, from doing the low crawl to the all-fours crawl for the first time. Emma's Dad was very happy to be here when it happened.

First Christmas

Emma got to have three Christmases! Her first was with our dear friend from San Francisco, and the second and third were here at home and then at Nana- and Papa-Bee's house. Toys, kitties, ribbons and glee abounded! Thank you to all for your wonderful and thoughtful gifts. *Photos at Grandma and Grandpa's house courtesy of Nana-Bee.

Fun with Nana

The baby bee has a very special place in her heart for Nana-Bee. Here is a "Just Because" post of Emma enjoying time with Nana-Bee

The Christmas Card

OK, so, I am pretty sure it is hard for all of us parents to resist sticking unwilling and surprisingly strong hands, arms, feet, legs and heads into appropriate holiday gear at least once, whether it be Halloween, Christmas or St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately for the baby bee, her mom is no different and has tortured her thus on several holidays, so far. Christmas was no exception, as Emma was thrust into a Santa hat for the obligatory Santa Baby Christmas Card. She was very sporting about the whole enterprise, though. Only a few tears...The last one ended up being the Christmas card photo.

Well-Baby Visit

Emma is usually in high spirits when we go to the doctor's office, despite all the poking and prodding she typically undergoes. During the Winter Break, she had a well-baby visit and was happy to learn that she would not be getting any shots, as were Emma's Mom and Dad. Her tender smile in the last picture is the one she reserves for Emma's Dad. :)

Homecoming

The baby bee had not seen her Dad for 5 months to the day, when he arrived home from Army training on Dec. 20. Needless to say, she was very exciting and even crowed an exultant (and unrehearsed), "Da-da," when she saw him in the airport. This delighted all interested parties and kicked off what was a heartily enjoyed and wistful two weeks with Emma's Dad. Alas, all good things must come to an end and Emma's Dad is back in training for a while longer. But, to catch you up, dear readers, there will be a BUNCH of pictures in the next few posts. I hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy 2009!
