First Owie of the New Year
So, Emma has wasted no time in accruing a collection of boo-boos in 2010. On the first day of the new year, she dealt herself an impressive forehead wound after running off the sidewalk at a pizza place where we were having lunch. Usually, the Baby Bee is very hestitant on stairs and curbs, painstakingly ascending or descending one limb at a time. This time, however, she blazed off the curb as though she were determined to defy gravity and ended up crumpling to the ground in a confused heap. Poor Emma scraped her head, cheek, chin and hands and had a good cry before learning all three of Newton's Laws of Motion. Emma's Mom and Dad also received a refresher course in physics that afternoon: Owie=Toddler(speed + lack of coordination).
Later in the week, the Baby Bee somehow managed to scrape off a circle of skin from her right middle finger. We have no idea how she did this, but it looks awful. Emma didn't seem to notice it right away, which was strange, because it looks pretty painful. However, she has since grown very aware of the boo-boo and has learned the magic of "Kiss and Make Better." Every day, she solemnly extends her middle finger to us and asks, "Kiss, kiss?"
